Once when I was looking for work (this is when I was younger and lacking much in wisdom or experience), I had the boldness to tell prospective employers that I believed I should be paid what I was worth.
Their response?
"Well, Joe, I believe that too, but there is a minimum wage law." **********************************************************
I learned long ago that I (in and of myself) am not really worth anything...
For He knows how we are formed, He remembers that we are dust. As for man, his days are like grass, he flourishes like a flower of the field; the wind blows over it and it is gone, and its place remembers it no more. -Psalms 103:14
But I also learned that Christ, in His compassion and love, has imparted His very own value to me, and because of Him, I am of a value that humanity cannot even measure, it is so high!
Who is like the Lord our God, the One who sits enthroned on high, who stoops down to look on the heavens and the earth? He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; He seats them with princes, with the princes of their people. -Psalm 113:5
