HILARIOUS JOKES AND HUMOR ARCHIVES

Recently my minister's little girl had been so naughty during the week that her mother decided to give her the worst kind of punishment: she told her she couldn't go to the Sunday School Picnic on Saturday.

But when Saturday arrived, she felt that she had perhaps been too harsh on her daughter and changed her mind. When she told her daughter she could go to the picnic, the child's reaction was one of gloom and unhappiness, instead of the expected joy.

"What's the matter? I thought you'd be glad to go to the picnic." her mother said.

"It's too late!" the little girl said. "I've already prayed for rain!" **********************************************************

Do you often find your own words coming back to inflict damage upon yourself? Wise Solomon has some good advice...

Go not forth hastily to strive, lest thou know not what to do in the end thereof, when thy neighbour hath put thee to shame. Debate thy cause with thy neighbour himself; and discover not a secret to another: Lest he that heareth it put thee to shame, and thine infamy turn not away. A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver. As an earring of gold, and an ornament of fine gold, so is a wise reprover upon an obedient ear.

As the cold of snow in the time of harvest, so is a faithful messenger to them that send him: for he refresheth the soul of his masters. Whoso boasteth himself of a false gift is like clouds and wind without rain. By long forbearing is a prince persuaded, and a soft tongue breaketh the bone. -Proverbs 25:8
